Project Overview
The Oppenheimer Park Initiative (The Gastown Hotel) involved the complete seismic and interior renovation of a prominent heritage asset located at 112 Water Street. Situated at the gateway between historic Gastown and the Downtown Eastside, this project revitalized a century-old building into 93 units of safe, supportive housing.
By preserving this critical Single Room Occupancy (SRO) stock, Anhart ensured that vulnerable residents were not displaced by gentrification, while simultaneously restoring the building's historic façade and upgrading life-safety systems.
Operations & Management
The Gastown Hotel is managed by our non-profit partners at Community Builders. The site features 24/7 staffing and tenant support services designed to foster community and stability.
